Hi, I’m Catherine. I live alone, and have done for about 25 years (with the exception of one year when I lived with someone. It didn’t last.)

I’m not anti marriage: I choose to live alone. It suits me. I’m not alone because I’m waiting for the “right” man, or because I am bitter after a broken relationship. Nor am I’m trying to learn to live alone after a divorce or death, which adds layers of emotional challenges. For me, living alone is a choice and a preference.

I find I’m often asked, directly or indirectly, to defend my choice, as if there is something wrong with it. There isn’t.  But I am happy to discuss it. So I write mostly about things that crop up in my life and how I see them through my lens of a life lived alone.

And occasionally I vent.
